Donald Glover Wants To Bring Back “FUN” In The Star Wars Universe
Donald Glover is a big name in Hollywood. He is responsible for writing brilliant episodes of Community, creating Atlanta, and, of course, creating Childish Gambino.
He is famous for playing Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Lucasfilm and Disney announced a movie based on the character, which was first planned as a show.
Lando, the famous scoundrel, is an integral part of the Saga narrative, and Donald wants the movie to be super fun for the fans.
In a recent interview, Donald said, "I just want it to be fun."
He added:
"As a Star Wars fan myself, I think it’s important that there needs to be fun being had. It’s very hard to have fun right now. It’s tough because there are very serious things happening, and those are the only things that connect us, weirdly. So I get why things are serious, but part of the human experience, I believe, is we have a responsibility to have enjoyment. And I just feel like we’re lacking in that department. "Star Wars, I love it, but sometimes it can be super serious. Sometimes it be, like, way too serious. Everything that has to do with the Skywalkers is like so serious. [With] Lando, I think the best part about him is he’s a scoundrel. And I feel like people can relate to that, and he’s probably like 'man, this war is whack. I need money,' which I feel everyone can relate to. I want to bring fun to Star Wars.” |
Coming Close To The Galaxy Far, Far Away
With recent events like the shoot-out attempt at presential candidate “Donald Trump” and the failure of the Disney+ show “The Acolyte,” the idea to make Star Wars fun is very thoughtful.
The Lando movie and Saga's future looks bright, with Donald Glover leading from the front. This will make fans feel closer to the Galaxy far, far away.
