Since the news that ‘The Acolyte’ won’t be renewed for another season, endless speculations are circulating in the Star Wars universe. Some believe the show is cancelled because of its weak storyline, while others have a hunch that the series doesn’t meet expectations.

However, the lead actress Amandla Stenberg has a unique take on the cancellation of ‘The Acolyte’ season 2.

In a video, she accepts that the decision to cancel the Star Wars series doesn’t surprise her. “There has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced when it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it,” she adds.

Through her Instagram posts, she opened up about what she went through as a Black woman on the Star Wars set. According to the actor, she learned about people on the Internet who trolled her just because they couldn’t digest a strong Black woman leading a big project like Star Wars Acolyte.

The Acolyte’s storyline is set in the Star Wars universe a century before The Phantom Menace, the beginning of the Skywalker Saga.
