Wild Card Expansion and Free DLC of Star Wars Outlaws Release Date Has Been Announced
The "Wild Card" and free DLC expansion focused on Lando from Star Wars Outlaws now has a release date, and there’s also some free content coming for players.
Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft launched Star Wars Outlaws at the end of August 2024, letting fans explore the criminal world of the Outer Rim as Kay Vess and her crew of outlaws.
The game received mostly positive reviews, but Ubisoft said it hadn’t met its sales goals yet.
Still, they plan to add more story content to Star Wars Outlaws.
The first edition was a side mission where Kay’s droid partner ND-5 tries to settle a debt with Jabba the Hutt, but it got some criticism for being locked behind a paid Season Pass from the start.
Two more DLC expansions are confirmed, named "Wild Card" and "A Pirate’s Fortune."
Ubisoft has announced the release date for the “Wild Card” DLC expansion for Star Wars Outlaws.
It will come out on November 21, 2024. In this expansion, Kay teams up with the famous scoundrel Lando Calrissian to take part in a high-stakes Sabacc tournament. On the same day, free content will also be available for all players, which will include new Contract missions.
In the main game, Lando appears as a character who can help Kay gain new abilities by completing a specific side quest.
Players first meet him on Akiva, where helping him find his lucky Sabacc token unlocks new skills related to card games and stealth.
The story of Star Wars Outlaws occurs between Lando’s betrayal of Han Solo, which was seen in The Empire Strikes Back, and his help rescuing Han from Jabba in Return of the Jedi.
Players can look forward to seeing more of Lando when the “Wild Card” DLC launches on November 21, which is also when Star Wars Outlaws will be available on Steam. Ubisoft hopes this will improve the game’s sales.
Not much is known yet about the second DLC pack, “A Pirate’s Fortune,” but it will feature the popular pirate captain Hondo Ohnaka and is set to be released in spring 2025.
