Here's The Twist in the Plot That Makes Star Wars' Best Show Important in The Whole Saga

At Disney's D23 event, fans got a sneak peek of Andor season 2, and it might have revealed a plot twist that could make Andor the most important show in the Star Wars franchise.

After a successful first season, Andor season 2 is set to arrive in 2025, with even higher stakes. It was shared at D23 that season 2 will cover four years, leading directly into the start of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

We’ve always enjoyed Star Wars stories that explore the mysticism of the Force, but Andor offered a fresh take that almost all Star Wars fans can appreciate.

While it's considered one of the best stories in the franchise, Andor’s timeline in the Age of the Rebellion complicates how the story can be told.

With so many events happening at the same time in the Star Wars universe, there's a concern that Andor might struggle to balance these stories without changing established details—especially if this theory turns out to be true.

Andor Will Reveal Mon Mothma's Break With The Imperial Senate

Senator Mon Mothma essentially leaves the Galactic Empire after the Ghorman massacre in Star Wars canon. It occurred in 2 BBY, aligning with the timeline of Andor season 2.

The massacre happened when the Empire sent troops to the planet Ghorman, where they brutally killed peaceful protesters.

Although this event has never been shown in Star Wars media before, Andor will likely show it, highlighting the Empire's cruelty.

After the massacre, Senator Mothma publicly blamed the Emperor for the deaths of Ghorman, a moment shown in Star Wars Rebels season 3.

It's known that Mon Mothma has secretly supported the rebels since the Empire's beginning, but this was the first time she openly opposed the Empire, risking an attack.

Following her speech against Palpatine, Mothma fled Coruscant and began working to unite the various rebel groups into the Rebel Alliance seen in the original Star Wars trilogy.

Cassian Can be the One Saving Her from Coruscant.

There are visuals from Andor season 2 showing Cassian Andor and Mon Mothma together on what seems to be Coruscant.

These images likely depict the events after Mon Mothma’s speech about the Ghorman Massacre, with Cassian assigned to help her escape from the Imperial capital.

If the show plans to depict the Ghorman massacre along with Mothma’s speech, it makes sense to show those two characters together.

Cassian is skilled at blending in and taking on different roles, so having him infiltrate Coruscant seems smart.
