Who is Cal Kestis

Cal Kestis was a Force-sensitive individual who trained to become a Jedi Knight while the Galactic Empire was in power. 

Kestis lived in isolation on the planet Bracca for years as one of the few Jedi who escaped the purge that nearly destroyed the Jedi Order, until an encounter with the Inquisitorius forced him to publicly oppose the reign of the Empire. 

Pursued around the cosmos by the Empire's Jedi trackers, Kestis chose to revive the Jedi Order and reaffirmed his bond with the Force.

In his own words to BD-1(a droid): “You know I've been alone for…a while now. Without any…purpose. Just hiding. It's no way to live. Not for a Jedi. Or a droid. Maybe Cere was right. Maybe we're done hiding."

Jedi Master Jaro Tapal's padawan Kestis fought alongside his mentor in the Clone Wars until the Grand Army of the Republic abandoned their Jedi commanders, following Supreme Chancellor Sheev Palpatine's order to carry out Order 66.

What Kind of Lightsaber Cal Kestis Used?

Cal Kestis made this blade on his way to Ilum his last one. The weapon was a combination of Cere Junda's and his late mentor Jaro Tapal's blade parts. Cal Kestis's second saber was first seen in the 2019 video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. 

Multiple colors like green, orange, purple, yellow, indigo, cyan, and even magenta can be applied to the weapon's kyber crystal. 

Nonetheless, the weapon's blade is primarily blue, which contributes to its iconic status in the Saga Franchise.
