Who is Yoda?
Yoda, a renowned Jedi Master, guided the Jedi Order during the High Republic era, witnessing its fall to the Sith and the rise of the Galactic Empire. Despite his small size, he is highly respected for his profound wisdom and strength in the Star Wars universe.
Yoda mentored numerous Jedi over the years, eventually becoming the Grand Master of the Jedi Order.
He played crucial roles in protecting the Republic in the Clone Wars, outlived Order 66, and passed down the Jedi teachings to Luke Skywalker, revealing the secrets to achieving immortality.
In the Saga, Yoda became the ultimate symbol of patience, wisdom, and the right use of power.
Different Lightsabers Used By Yoda
Yoda wielded two different sabers throughout his journey as a Jedi Master. These two blades are:
01. Shoto Lightsaber: This lightsaber was ideal for Yoda because it had a shorter blade and hilt than the standard saber and was first shown in the comic book Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures.
The green light emitted by the saber was due to the kyber crystal within it. The green color of the saber is typically associated with Jedi who possess a strong connection to the Force and a deep well of wisdom. In his final days, Yoda eventually gifted this lightsaber to a youngling named Kai Brightstar.
02. Second Lightsaber: This one, also a shoto with a green saber was seen in the prequel films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.
The lightsaber found in Yoda's hut on Dagobah was more basic in design compared to his original one. Following Yoda's passing, Luke Skywalker discovered the lightsaber, which later ended up in the hands of Grogu, also referred to as "Baby Yoda.
What Sets Yoda’s Lightsaber Apart?
Two key things that make Yoda's lightsabers special are:
A. Shoto Design: Unlike Jedi Knights’s standard lightsaber, Yoda's both sabers are shotos. These blades are specifically designed for smaller stature beings as they have a shorter blade and hilt to allow for better control and maneuverability for someone like Yoda.
B. Green Blade: Although not unique to Yoda, the green sabers are less common than the typical Jedi’s blue blade.
