No Cameos In The Beginning For Star Wars: The Acolyte
In the latest Interview, Headland stated clearly that “The Acolyte,” which takes place in the High Republic, means Yoda is alive, yet the audience will never see Yoda. “No, there is not,” said Headland, decisively stating that though the show will connect The High Republic and the Extended Universe, it won’t cover any other films or TV shows.
The High Republic era, primarily explored in books and comics, is set about 100 years before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
”The Acolyte” will add new characters to the cast and, therefore, will depend on the show’s universe as little as possible; in this way, the new series will appeal to both fans and those who have never watched the show.
Leslye Headland - The Mastermind Behind The Acolyte
Headland plans to make an interesting series when no deep knowledge of Star Wars lore is needed.
It spans eight episodes and cost around $180 million to make; the show will air on Disney+. It assures that it will share new aspects of the franchise’s lore and diversify the characters and the plotlines.
It features actors such as Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-Jae, Jodie Turner-Smith, Manny Jacinto, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
There are also recognitions of the Star Wars universe with Jedi and references to several Star Wars motifs, such as colorful scenes in an alien restaurant with music and the famous phrase, “May the force be with you.”
