Princess Leia’s Star Wars Gold Bikini Sold for Whopping $175,000
Carrie Fisher wore the costume in Return of the Jedi (1983).
Do you remember the gold bikini Jabba the Hutt gave to Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi? The famous costume went into an auction recently fetched $175,000. Heritage Auctions brought it on sale on Friday in the US.
The bikini is a seven-piece ensemble that includes a bikini brassiere, plates, rings, a bracelet, and an armlet. The late Richard Miller designed it.
Princess Leia wore the golden bikini when she was chained by Jabba the Hutt.
Apart from the famous bikini, another Star Wars piece—a miniature aircraft—was part of the auction and sold for $1.55m. The aircraft is a Y-Wing Starfighter that was an important part of a mission to bring down the Death Star in A New Hope.
The miniature starfighter was designed by US artist Colin Cantwell.
