Sold! Star Wars Miniature Aircraft Went for $1.55M in an Auction

At a recent auction, a miniature Y-Wing Starfighter from the original Star Wars film A New Hope fetched an astonishing $1.55 million. Designed by artist Colin Cantwell, it was one of only two made for the film.

The miniature aircraft played a key role in the movie’s dramatic battle scenes, helping the Rebel Alliance destroy the Death Star. Cantwell’s unique designs were meant to make the ships easily identifiable as either heroes or villains, enhancing the film's visual impact.

Other notable items were sold besides the Y-Wing. Princess Leia’s famous gold bikini, worn by Carrie Fisher in Return of the Jedi, went for $175,000. This costume, designed by Richard Miller, has become a legendary piece of film history.

Also sold were a movie poster from Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home for $106,250, a Thor hammer from Thor: The Dark World for $81,250, and a Mandalorian helmet for $40,000.

Collectors also snapped Daniel Radcliffe’s wand from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban for $52,000 and Macauley Culkin’s outfit from Home Alone for $47,500.
