Star Wars Actress Daisy Ridley Opens Up About Her Graves' Disease

"I Didn't Realise How Bad I Felt", says The Rise of Skywalker actress.

Daisy Ridley, 32, was diagnosed with Graves' Disease in 2023. Talking about those days, the actress revealed that she came to know about her illness after noticing symptoms like lost weight, increased heart rate, and shakiness. 

Graves' disease affects the thyroid gland and causes the body to make thyroid hormone excessively.

"I thought, 'Well, I've just played a stressful role,' presumably that's why I feel poorly’, says Daisy during an interview with Women's Health. According to her, the condition had made her irritable. 

When asked how she battled the disease, the actress talked about the importance of self-care and a strict diet. She had started taking the utmost care of her health and had removed gluten from her diet plan. 

“The diet made me feel better”, Daisy Ridley admitted.

Although she is in good condition now, the actress accepts that she still follows a routine. It includes acupuncture and saunas. She also has rose quartz, which is known for its emotional properties, such as supporting self-love and deepening inner peace.
