Star Wars Disappointed Fans at D23 By Not Sharing New Updates

D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is usually Disney's biggest event for announcing new things, so many of us expect Star Wars to have several big updates. In the past, Star Wars has used D23 to share exciting news about upcoming projects

For example, at the last D23 in 2022, Star Wars released three new trailers, confirmed three TV show release dates, and shared news about two new live-action TV shows. This year's D23, however, didn’t bring the same level of excitement.

Only two trailers were released to the public: one for a show that already had a trailer (LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy) and another for a long-awaited show (Star Wars: Skeleton Crew).

Only one new release date was announced. Everything else, including sneak peeks for Andor season 2 and The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, was shown exclusively to the audience at the event.

While Star Wars doesn’t owe us anything, especially with Star Wars Celebration 2025 on the horizon, we still feel disappointed.

Star Wars Kept Us Excited All Weekend During D23

We Were Really Looking Forward to New Announcements Every Day

Only Skeleton Crew, Andor season 2, and The Mandalorian & Grogu got a trailer or sneak peek, along with confirmed release dates or years.

However, the weekend ended with no updates on The Acolyte’s future. Additionally, no new information about Ahsoka season 2 or other movie projects in the works, and no announcements of any brand-new animated or live-action TV shows.

........Surprisingly, They Didn't Announce Anything New that We Were Not Aware of.

Even the "New" Things Were Not That NEW…

The biggest surprise was from the sneak peek of The Mandalorian & Grogu, which revealed the return of the Razor Crest and Star Wars Rebels' Zeb Orrelios.

However, those who attended the event in person have seen it. But, nothing was released to the public.

Even though there were good chances to hear updates about The Acolyte and Lucasfilm Animation, nothing was released.

By the end of the weekend, we felt worn out from all the anticipation, with not much to show for it.
