Star Wars Jedi Series to Get Final Chapter of the Trilogy
Today, Electronic Arts has released the game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, made by Respawn Entertainment, for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
This is the second game in their series. During EA's Investor Relations Day, the company also announced that Respawn is working on the third and last game in the trilogy.
Laura Miele, who is the president of EA Entertainment, told investors:
"We have created some of the best and most popular Star Wars games ever, with more than $5 billion in sales.
This includes the Star Wars Jedi games, with more than 40 million fans following Cal Kestis on his journey to becoming a well-known and powerful Jedi. Respawn is working to the fullest to bring the final part of this exciting story to players."
Unlike Jedi: Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor, the next game will be led by someone other than Stig Asmussen.
Asmussen, also the director of God of War III, left Respawn a year ago. In March 2024, he started a new triple-A game studio called Giant Skull, which works on an action/adventure game using Unreal Engine 5.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received an 8.3/10 score on Wccftech:
Although Jedi: Fallen Order was a surprise hit when it first came out, Jedi: Survivor proves that Cal Kestis’ adventures are still just as fun.
The game follows a similar structure but in new environments, making it a solid sequel. While it doesn’t take many risks compared to the previous game, it still shines in its way, especially when focusing on Cal’s growth from a Jedi Padawan.
The game improves much of the original experience as it continues Cal’s journey to Tanalorr.
When it first launched, the game had several performance problems, but Respawn has been working on it. The latest patch, released recently, fixed most (though not all) of the issues.
