The Galaxy Far, Far Away Gets More Exciting With Dave Filoni Coming Into Picture
Star Wars fans are enjoying “The Acolyte” on Disney+, and Lucasfilm is preparing many other promising Saga projects. In addition to more television shows, Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu is set for 2026, with The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau tasked with directing the movie.
Dave Filoni, the showrunner of Ahsoka and the Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm, has a movie in the pipeline, which is believed to wrap up the timeline of the Mandalorian.
Again, Filoni was not initially planning out the future episodes of Ahsoka and possibly wasn’t that deep into devising the new season when he penned the Death Watch arc because, as he pointed out, “Because I’ve been writing [Ahsoka Season 2], things have clicked, and I have a much better idea about where things are going to go. ” He added, “I will say, I have an opening I like quite a bit. I’m very excited about it for that picture.”
Dave Filoni Is Himself A Major Contribution To Star Wars
Even though very little is known about the film that Filoni will direct, it takes place during the New Republic Era.
Dave Filoni is associated with many different projects, and he recently said in an interview,” Jon [Favreau] and I have our little theater that we’ve been playing in, but Star Wars is a big galaxy.”
The next Star Wars movie to be theatrically released is The Mandalorian & Grogu, which is expected to release on May 22, 2026.
May the Force be with you!
