Will Star Wars Outlaws Delay Over Negative YouTube Comments?

IGN posted a 10-minute exclusive gameplay preview of "Star Wars Outlaws" on July 18, which received some negative feedback. In response, IGN has hidden the dislike count from the video, leaving only the likes visible.

In a June preview, staff writer Morgan Park mentioned that the game seemed too cautious. He believes the game's true potential is in its open world, which Ubisoft didn't fully show during that event.

A day after the video was posted on YouTube, it received 13,000 dislikes and only 8,000 likes. This negative response caught the attention of a Bank of America analyst, who mentioned the "relatively mixed reviews" during a financial call today and questioned whether Ubisoft might delay the game's release.

Although Ubisoft confirmed that the game will still be released on August 30 without delays, they might not be pleased with the reaction.

Ubisoft has often delayed the games, even at the last minute. For example, one of the many delays for "Skull and Bones" happened less than two months before its planned launch on November 8, 2022. However, Ubisoft says this won't happen with "Star Wars Outlaws."

"As we've said also for Star Wars, the level of quality of the world and the experience is really very high," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot added. "We are really leveraging our engine, and I think people will love it."
