The Rey Skywalker Graflex EP9 Lightsaber is a faithful replica of the reforged Skywalker saber as seen in Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Featuring the iconic Graflex design with modern modifications, the hilt retains the recognizable clamp and bubble strip while incorporating a leather-wrapped grip section to reflect Rey’s personal touch. The emitter and shroud maintain the vintage flashgun styling, giving this piece a seamless blend of old legacy and new craftsmanship.
Equipped with Xenopixel V3 electronics, this lightsaber includes a Neopixel blade, making it perfect for showcase and light duelling but not for heavy duelling. The LED strip within the blade delivers vibrant illumination, realistic ignition effects, and dynamic blade styles. Additional features include 34 pre-installed sound fonts, smooth swing motion detection, multiple ignition modes, gesture controls, and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity for customisation via the “XenoConfigurator” app on iOS and Android.
History
The Graflex hilt was originally built and used by Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars and passed down to his son, Luke Skywalker. It became an heirloom of the Jedi Order, playing a role in defining moments across the saga—most notably in Luke’s confrontation with Vader and later when it called out to Rey in The Force Awakens. Though broken during her struggle with Kylo Ren, Rey chose to repair the saber, honoring the legacy it carried.
In The Rise of Skywalker, Rey reforged the Graflex lightsaber using salvaged parts and added her own leather wrap to the grip, symbolizing her growth and newfound clarity. This hybrid design reflected her acceptance of the Jedi path and her spiritual connection to the Skywalker name. The saber became an emblem of Rey’s transformation—from a scavenger to the future of the Jedi Order—and a final tribute to the family that shaped the galaxy’s destiny.
