Darth Vader in the Dark Side's Armour
Born into poverty on Tatooine, Anakin Skywalker was discovered late by the Jedi Order yet accepted regardless — because the Force moved through him at a level no living being had matched. Prophesied as the Chosen One, he entered the Order carrying both extraordinary promise and a grief the Jedi code had no language for. That tension defined him from the start.
The fall came not through weakness but through love — the one vulnerability the Jedi Order never taught him to hold. Seduced by the promise of power over death, he crossed a line that could not be uncrossed. Anakin Skywalker was gone. What the galaxy inherited was Darth Vader: encased in black armour, bound to the Emperor's will, and carrying a red blade that had no memory of the light.
Vader's blade endured across every chapter that followed — the EP5 design carried through The Empire Strikes Back, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, and multiple game appearances, while the Revenge of the Sith and Return of the Jedi hilts mark the arc's beginning and end. All eight designs on this page trace that trajectory.
The Empire's enforcer, the fallen son — his story ended where it began, in the light.
Which Darth Vader lightsaber should I buy?
Era shapes the design, the Saber Core decides how it performs — together they point each version of Vader's blade to a different kind of fan.
Which hilt is which
Two EP6 hilts cover Return of the Jedi — the ROTJ design and the EP6 design, each a black and silver straight hilt from Vader's final chapter. The EP5 hilt belongs to The Empire Strikes Back and carries across into the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and several game appearances. The EP3 hilt marks his first steps as Vader in Revenge of the Sith.
Which Saber Core
S-RGB and RGB-X are the baselit, heavy-duelling cores — built to take impact, lower in price, and the right call if the blade will see real punishment. Xenopixel V3, SNV4 PRO, and Proffie 2.2 all light the full blade from tip to emitter, adding smooth swing and a deeper sound profile; Proffie opens every parameter to custom programming. All five cores appear across this catalogue.
Which suits you
Baselit suits anyone who wants Vader's blade in hand for heavy duelling without worrying about the hilt. Neopixel — Xenopixel V3 or SNV4 PRO — is the pick for display, cosplay, and the full cinematic sound profile. Proffie 2.2 is for the collector who wants to rewrite every font, colour, and motion response themselves.
