Legends sits outside the films — and that's exactly where things get interesting. This is the expanded universe in its fullest sense: decades of novels, comics, video games, and animated series that charted territory the movies never touched. The hilts that belong here reflect that creative freedom. You'll find designs shaped by writers and artists who weren't bound to a production schedule or a director's vision — so the results are stranger, bolder, and often more personal than anything that made it to the screen. Curved grips built for dual-wielding. Paired blades engineered for aggressive fighting forms. Handles wrapped in materials the Jedi Council never approved. Where the film eras tend toward a coherent visual grammar, Legends breaks it deliberately — each hilt tells you something specific about the character who built it and the corner of the galaxy they came from.

Choosing within the era.
Which characters carry the most choice
Choosing a lightsaber from Legends starts with a character, not a catalogue of hilt variants. Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn come from the Legends continuity itself, two names any reader of the expanded stories will know on sight. Alongside them sit Ronin and Lop from Star Wars: Visions, and a Sailor Moon crossover design that brings something unexpected into the same lineup. The real decision here isn't which version of a hilt to pick, but which character and story you want to carry.
Display or duel
Every hilt in this line comes as a Neopixel build, in SNV4 PRO, Proffie 2.2 or Xenopixel V3, with the blade lit along its full length, built for display and for light duelling. Most of these designs are also available as a baselit duelling build, in S-RGB or RGB-X, made to take real contact. Which one suits a given shopper depends on what they actually plan to do with it, and the Saber Core guide explains the cores in full.

Legends is a continuity, not a period. These hilts come from stories told outside the timeline above, so there is no era to slot them into and no date range to give them. They are here because the blades are real, not because they fit the chronology.
