The Original Trilogy gave us the lightsaber as myth. These are the hilts that defined what a saber should feel like — machined and purposeful, built from the repurposed hardware of a galaxy at war: Graflex flash handles, Heiland grips, D-ring clamps, and the honest weight of a weapon carried into real conflict. There is nothing decorative about an Original Trilogy hilt. Every detail exists because it had a job to do, whether that was hanging from a belt on the run from the Empire or cutting through the darkness of a Sith Lord's throne room. The aesthetic is functional, even austere — and that restraint is exactly what makes these designs endure across five decades of fandom.

Choosing within the era.
Which characters carry the most choice
Luke Skywalker carries the richest run of versions in this era, from the Graflex hilt he inherits through Episodes IV and V, offered also as an SE, to the hilt he builds himself for Return of the Jedi, offered also weathered, with V1 and V2 versions and an Episode VI V2 besides. Darth Vader's own hilts run almost as deep, spanning his Episode V and Episode VI hilts alongside an SE, a V2 and an exposed-crystal version. Obi-Wan Kenobi's single Episode IV hilt completes the era for the purist who wants the one hilt that matters rather than a run of them.
The hilt shapes this era gave the catalogue
This era's look runs from the flash-handle Graflex hilt Luke inherits, to the simpler hilt he builds for himself once he has to make his own, to Vader's black-gripped design — three shapes that trace the era's story in metal. Choosing between the three is really choosing which moment of the story a shopper wants on their shelf or in their hand.
Display or duel
Every hilt from this era comes as a Neopixel build — SNV4 PRO, Proffie 2.2 or Xenopixel V3 — with the blade lit along its length, suited to display and to light duelling. Most of these hilts also come as a baselit duelling build, in S-RGB or RGB-X, made for real contact rather than for show. The Saber Core guide below sets out how the two builds differ in full, for anyone weighing a shelf piece against a hilt built to take a hit.

Legends is a continuity, not a period. These hilts come from stories told outside the timeline above, so there is no era to slot them into and no date range to give them. They are here because the blades are real, not because they fit the chronology.
