One Grogu design from one era
The Child Who Chose His Own Path
Born around 41 BBY and raised within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Grogu was a Jedi Initiate of a species so rare it had no recorded name — the same ancient lineage as Grand Master Yoda. Extraordinarily slow to age, he remained small and infant-like while the galaxy turned around him, yet the Force ran through him with a depth that set him apart from the very beginning.
Everything changed when Din Djarin pulled him from an Imperial safe house. No longer a captive of the remnant, no longer a Jedi Initiate waiting on an order that no longer existed — Grogu became a foundling of Clan Mudhorn, bound not by tradition but by the loyalty of a single Mandalorian who had no particular reason to care, and did anyway.
From there, his path wound through a brief, decisive chapter with Luke Skywalker — training at a Jedi academy, then a choice between Yoda's lightsaber and the armour of a Mandalorian. He chose Djarin. That choice carried forward through the Liberation of Mandalore and into the events of The Mandalorian and Grogu, where Din Grogu fights alongside the man who became his father.
A foundling twice over — first of the Force, then of Clan Mudhorn.
Which Grogu lightsaber should I buy?
The notes below settle which hilt suits your place in the saga, which Saber Core fits how you plan to use it, and whether this design belongs in a display case or your hand during a duel.
Which hilt is which
One hilt design, drawn from Grogu's appearances across The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett — the New Republic era where his story takes shape.
Which Saber Core
RGB-X sits at the Baselit tier — built for heavy duelling, lower in price, a solid blade lit from the hilt. Xenopixel V3 is the Neopixel option: the full blade glows edge-to-tip, with smooth swing and the advanced effects that suit a display piece or light sparring. Both cores are available on this design; the choice comes down to how the saber will live with you.
Which suits you
Duellist: the RGB-X Baselit version is rated for heavy duelling and takes a hit — the right call if the saber is going to work for its keep. Display or cosplay: the Xenopixel V3 Neopixel version glows the full length of the blade and carries the smooth swing and visual effects that make it worth showing off. Collector: if you want to load custom sound fonts or get deeper into programming, the Xenopixel V3 supports an SD card and Bluetooth connectivity — a strong starting point before stepping up to a Proffie build.
